so much to say so little
I hate what I'm writing. It's already 600 words and not going anywhere. And I can't end it. And I'm thinking it's too much like my unfinished "To Asch", and not that I will finish that one, but what if I do, then I have two with the same basic idea.

And why are you two so boring now? You used to make out all the time!! What happened? Why do you refuse to make out now?? I'm just going to write more porn if you don't get your acts together.

Then at the gym (didn't I say I get all my ideas at the gym) I got an idea for Asch/Nat, and I swear, Guy, if you don't stop being so damn boring, I will write more Asch/Nat and leave you out completely, babe.

You're playing right into their hands.

Don't let Guy become emo and passive because of his past tragedies; then he just becomes like Luke and Asch. He has the most charm and wit and flare of the three. I haven't seen you write how he pursues Natalia, even though that's the only way it could happen because Princesses are supposed to be wooed, not the other way around.

Ha, I totally am.

He's not emo and passive so much as he's just... being quiet and contemplative. And that's boring. She sits there and says nothing, he sits there and says nothing....... Somebody do something!

I haven't because I've mostly (if not completely?) been writing her POV instead of getting in his head. But she's no shy flower, either.

But she would totally expect/hope/demand that the man she likes pursue her, because that's the proper thing.

I have similar trouble writing Fujitaka's POV because it's hard to imagine imagine how he would 1)Fall in love with Sonomi and 2)Act on it. He's old and has been married once. Does he even still have a libido? It's hard.

Dude. He's not dead. What's he, like 45? That's not old. 90 is old.

I was venting. 45 chronologically, 33 biologically (because the adults in CLAMP are all super duper in shape), but still, looking at his personality now... I mean, with Nadesico, that was clearly physical attraction at least to begin with, so we can infer he does like pretty women. I just have problem visualizing how he would get turned on by Sonomi now.

It probably stems from an identity crisis; since Nadesico died he became 100% Dad, and lost along with his Husband status his identity as a Male (consciously or unconsciously suppressing those desires stemming from).

Granted I'm only vague acquaintances with a young 40s widower/father who started dating again after a couple years, but there's nothing wrong with wanting companionship and someone to share your life with. I think where Fujitaka's concerned it probably would start out as wanting someone to do things with, go places with, talk about things with, and then build from there. And I don't see why he wouldn't find Sonomi attractive--she's pretty and fiery and intelligent. It might take him some time to go from seeing her as generally attractive to seeing her as specifically attractive to him, but, yeah, he's not dead. The whole "losing his identity as a male" thing... I don't see. Maybe it's because he's not a main focus character, but there's nothing there that gives me that impression.
