Oh, Florian. I feel ya, kid.

This scene was way too short. Way too short. But thank you, show, for remembering it. However...

Dammit, show! Give it back properly!

And someone give Guy a hug. I don't care who at this point Natalia. Just... he needs one.

Synopsis of what's happened up till this point from... episode 20, please?
mellowcandle From: mellowcandle Date: March 15th, 2009 03:28 pm (UTC) (Link)
Seriously? You could probably watch it faster than I could explain it. Okay, sort of going by character/plotline moreso than timeline here.

1. Arietta blames Anise for Ion's death and challenges her to a duel. They fight. Arietta dies never knowing Ion was a replica and not her Ion. Largo tells Anise not to pity Arietta because it demeans what Arietta believed and her willingness to die for it. He also says the next time they meet, he'll avenge Arietta.

2. Asch comes to Baticul looking for Luke, and Luke makes him come to their house. Asch is reunited with his parents, but after he tells Luke to stop interfering and that he's never coming back there again. Jade knows Asch is dying.

3. Mohs makes himself the Fon Master of the New Order of Lorelei. However, since he can't control the seventh fonon, his body mutates and he goes insane. The group splits up and Jade/Tear/Anise fight and defeat him. Mohs had also been using another Ion replica to read the Score. The group rescues him, Anise names him Florian (meaning "Innocent One"), and she and her parents sort of take guardianship of him.

4. Luke, Guy, and Jade talk to the king about the locket Luke found and it's confirmed that Largo must be Natalia's birth father. She finds out, and when the group splits, she/Luke/Guy meet and fight Largo. He's killed by Natalia's arrow, he calls her Meryl, and Natalia collapses and cries. Later she goes home and cries in her father's arms.

5. The miasma is back and getting worse. Probably the only way to get rid of it once and for all is with Luke's hyperresonance, which would kill him. Jade also says it wouldn't be strong enough on its own and would need to be amplified somehow, for example by sacrificing ten thousand seventh fonists (see: all the replicas). Asch finds this out and decides to do it himself at the tower where the replicas have been gathering. The replicas (including replica!Mary) agree to sacrifice themselves if any remaining replicas will be given a place in the world. Our gang gets there and Luke and Asch together get rid of the miasma, but even though this didn't kill Luke at the time, his body is now separating and he doesn't have much time left. He talks to Jade about it and says he doesn't want anyone else to know, but Tear and Mieu eavesdrop.

6. Van's replica of Hod appears. This is where the final battle with Van will take place so they can stop him/free Lorelei. Our gang takes one last night to rest before heading out. The group splits up. Noelle takes Mieu so Tear and Luke can talk. Guy and Natalia talk about how they're madly in love with each other Asch and Luke will have to have it out once and for all, and whether Natalia will be able to accept the outcome. Jade hangs out in the bar drinking and Anise tells him that she's going to become the first female Fon Master and reform the Order for Ion. (I watched this last episode raw and am going more by memory from the game for these conversations.)

I'm probably forgetting a lot or not explaining it well, but those are some important highlights.

Largo is Natalia's birth dad?
......... Thank you genetic mutations!!

What do Guy and Natalia actually talk about? You reaction was as if they left some stuff out.

Ugh, Arietta. I didn't want her to die.

Yeah, she must take after her birth mother.

Here, rather than me transcribe a show you hate, have this. Start around 1:15.

"I bet Asch is a pretty fun guy without all his baggage." Oh, sweetie, no. What makes Asch Asch is that he takes himself so damn seriously.

Why do you try to make me feel guilty by putting it that way? I don't hate the show, I'm just indifferent about it.

DUUUUUUUDE... wtf the game didn't show the rest of Natalia and Guy's exchange that must have taken place. C'mon, two alone gazing at a beautiful sunset on the beach? Dude! I can practically hear the cheesy string music in the background.

Heh, but you remind me of those javajunkies who refused to watch the last season of Gilmore Girls but insisted on knowing everything that happened so they could bitch about it.

Yeah, the sunset and staring out at the water? Not romantic at all! Silly kids.

Now you're just hurting my feelings.

1:15 Scene Redone

Nat: "You're so mature. I don't know... I just..."
Guy: *Walks up and places hand around her shoulder* "You see Luke as your friend right?"
Nat: "Yes."
Guy: "Then that's enough for now. Once everything is settled, go with what you feel."
*He gives her shoulder a little squeeze and turns to leave, never noticing that the color on Natalia's face was not from the sunset alone.*
Nat: "... You're right, some answers won't come no matter how much you think about it."

I'm just sayin, someone truly indifferent wouldn't ask for a rundown of the last five episodes.

Here, have some Guy and replica!Mary:

You're right. Indifferent is probably not the right word then. I AM curious as to what happens to the characters, but the quality of the show keeps me from following it. If there were a novel though...

Wow! She appears in the show? Poor Guy.

Well it's almost over now. Are you at least going to watch the last two now that you're caught up? It'll be interesting to see how they handle the ending, since the game ending is notoriously ambiguous.
