My Guests, a new feature that will allow you to see who visits your journal, is coming soon.

Is this creepy to anyone else? While it would be nice to know if anyone is actually viewing my fic journal, I don't want to leave a footprint every time I check out a new community. Sometimes I get bored and poke around to see what's out there, but I don't need a trail making people think I'm interested in _____ when really it may have just been morbid curiosity.

Is this a feature people were clamoring for? It seems... unnecessary.

I don't think so. I know Xanga has a similar feature called "Footprints". I think LiveJournal wants to compete against Xanga by having similar features. I mean, I admit to stalking some people on LiveJournal, but not always. The feature is only good when you wanna see who comes across your blog. :P

I already clicked "No" for that feature. Nobody shall know when I'm stalking them. >.> <.

I said no too. I don't want people pestering me if I checked out their community but didn't join or whatever. I hope we'll see a page view counter instead. Keeps it anonymous but at least you can see if you're being read at all.

Now I won't be able to visit the Twilight Slash sites I'm so fond of.

I knew it.

Where I left make posts asking Why Twilight hasn't been nominated for the Nobel prize when it is clearly the most outstanding work of idealism (first true love) in the field of literature.

Of course.

I saw that and clicked the one that meant 'no'... partially because I don't want everyone and their dirty socks knowing what I'm looking at. Granted, my lj-surfing is pretty tame by all means, but still. What I'm looking at is nobody's business.

I more or less saw this and went, "Wow, way to invade privacy, LJ."

Apparently they're working on a page view counter? Which I would like better. It'd be nice to know if people are reading my fics, but I don't need to know who. That's one feature I actually like over at ff.net. Even though no one reviews, at least I know I had X number of readers this month. Though I'd prefer reviews.

But, yeah, I don't need to leave footprints when I check out communities. I don't know if I'd get people wondering why I didn't join, or spamming me with invites, or anything like that.
