The boring-ass dry political part is done. I suppose I could go ahead and put that up if anyone's clamoring for it. But I think it works better if the two scenes are taken as a whole. I don't know why. Maybe it's because you get rewarded for sitting through the dry with some flirting, dirty jokes, and kissage.
Shouldn't this be easier if you write it all out first, you may be thinking. Well, that's the trick of my writing. I don't write chronologically. I free write. I start with whatever part of the scene seems easiest, write till I get stuck, then jump to a new part or restart the scene from another angle and try it again, or if I think of a good line I'll write that part out of context, then I have all these bits that I have to merge together. A lot of the editing and rewriting and stuff happens as I type, so while I call the posted scene a first draft, it's really a second draft. It's just the first one you actually see.
So.
