Lorelai: Mm, mm...tell me, tell me.
Rory: -- is when their son, Jeff, comes home from school and nothing happens.
Lorelai: Oh that's a good one. One of my favorites is when Mary, the daughter, gets a part-time job and nothing happens.
Rory: Another classic.
Maybe this is the problem I'm having with my chapter. Nothing happens.
I don't so much want anything to happen plot-wise. I'm kinda setting up things and going for character/relationship moments more than plot, because while there's the plot in the background, the focus is the relationship, and I guess I need to remember that. I just need the plot in the background, too.
Okay, so stop worrying about plot and concentrate on relationships. That's my plan.
I can't come up with a good way to end it. This is not to say it's in any way almost done. I just like to have a last line or exchange to work toward.
After this I may finally post the first chapter to ff.net as is, because I think it's okay, and then the second chapter needs some punching up.
