Which means the scene I was planning to tack onto the end may not be necessary for word count, and I can save getting back to the handkerchief for later. Which I'd wanted to do anyway, so that's good. And Jo can wait until the next chapter, which is also what I wanted to do anyway.
Once I get this scene finished, then there's the next scene, which is only just sort of sketched out. It'll be the concluding scene for the chapter, so I'll have to find a good line to go out on, since it won't be cliffhangery like the last one.
Maybe I'll have this done in the next couple of weeks. I make no guarantees, but I'm getting there, anyway.
