D and I are up to 1500 words in our Free! fic. I wrote 800 of how-we-got-here yesterday, then he read it today and we worked together from there, bouncing ideas off each other ("He should say this." "Okay, but then what would she say?"), and we sort of got bogged down in details at times, like how much time do we really need to spend with a waitress and can they just order in a narrative sentence and be done with it, and it's embarrassing reading it out loud, but...

It's nice to have someone laugh at the parts that are supposed to be funny. That's the problem with posting stuff online: I never know if the things that are supposed to be funny are making anyone but me laugh.

I laugh when reading the funny parts, if it makes you feel any better. :)

In fact, one of the reasons I love your writing so much (besides the romantic type stories you usually do) is because of the humor. Writing humor is something I struggle with, and you do it well. :)

Aw, thank you! I read one fic writer say, "If a joke makes me laugh when I write it, that's how I know it's bad", but I say, if a joke makes me laugh when I write it, then that's the point.

I agree with you on that. :)
